We Are the Lab
In-house ISO-certified laboratory.
Every production batch tested before shipment.
Every test report provided as standard — not on request
ISO-certified Laboratory
There is a fundamental difference between a factory that uses third-party testing and one that operates its own laboratory.
When testing is outsourced, results arrive days after production, sampling is limited by cost, and the factory has no direct visibility into what the data means for the specific batch in production. When the laboratory is in-house, every batch can be tested before the next production stage begins — and the QC team, the production floor, and the customer all operate on the same data.
Winture's ISO-certified laboratory is staffed by full-time laboratory technicians, operates continuously alongside our production lines, and tests every incoming raw material batch and every finished product batch before outgoing sign-off.
The test reports generated here are the same documents provided to customers with every delivery.
01
OES Optical Emission Spectrometer — Chemical Composition Analysis
The OES spectrometer is the primary tool for verifying that incoming steel matches its declared grade. A small surface sample is excited by electrical spark, and the emitted spectrum identifies the concentration of every alloying element simultaneously: carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni)molybdenum (Mo), and others.
Why this matters:
A coil labelled Q355B with carbon content outside specification will not achieve 355 MPa yield strength under production conditions. An angle steel batch with elevated sulfur causes brittle fracture risk at low temperature. OES analysis catches both problems before the material enters our production line — not after a structural failure on a project site.
Test output:
Full elemental composition report, comparison against grade specification limits, pass/fail status. Provided to customer as part of IQC documentation.
02
Universal Testing Machine — Mechanical Property Testing
The universal testing machine applies controlled tensile load to a standardized coupon cut from the actual production batch. It measures and records the full stress-strain curve, from which yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation at fracture are calculated.
Parameters measured:
Yield strength (ReH or Rp0.2, MPa)
Tensile strength (Rm, MPa)
Elongation at fracture (A%, per ISO 6892-1 / ASTM E8M)
Why this matters:
A solar pile that doesn't meet Q355B yield strength will deform under wind load before the design load is reached. A tower leg member that doesn't achieve ASTM A572 Gr.50 tensile strength creates an undefined safety margin in the structural analysis. Mechanical testing is the direct confirmation that the material will perform as designed.
Test output:
Stress-strain curve, measured Rp0.2 / Rm / A% values, comparison against specification, pass/fail. Provided with IQC documentation.
03
Impact Testing Machine (Charpy) — Low-Temperature Toughness
The Charpy impact test measures the energy absorbed when a standardized notched specimen fractures under a sudden blow
— quantifying the material's resistance to brittle fracture at low temperatures.
When this test is required:
Transmission towers in high-altitude, high-latitude, or cold-climate installations (design temperature ≤−20°C)
Structural steel specified to grades requiring impact guarantees:
Q355B subgrades D and E, EN 10025 S355J2, ASTM A572 Gr.50 with CVN requirement
Oil and gas structures where brittle fracture is a safety-critical failure mode
Test output:
Absorbed energy (Joules) at specified test temperature, comparison against specification minimum, pass/fail.
04
Coating Thickness Gauge — Galvanizing Measurement
Electromagnetic coating thickness measurement is performed across all surfaces of galvanized structural members after the HDG process. Measurements are taken at a minimum of 5 points per member face per ISO 1461 protocol, covering areas identified as most susceptible to thin coating: sharp corners, complex geometry, and inside faces of angles.
Standards applied:
ISO 1461, EN ISO 1461, ASTM A123 / A153
Acceptance criteria:
Solar mounting structures: ≥55μm local minimum, ≥85μm average
Transmission tower members: ≥70μm local minimum, ≥90μm average
Enhanced specification (coastal C5-M): ≥100μm average, agreed per project
Test output:
Tabulated measurement results by surface location, average and minimum values, pass/fail. Provided as part of FQC documentation.
05
Salt Spray Chamber — Long-Term Corrosion Validation
The salt spray chamber subjects coated specimens to a continuous 5% NaCl mist at 35°C — a standardized accelerated corrosion environment (ISO 9227 / ASTM B117). It is used to validate that coating systems perform as specified under the simulated service conditions corresponding to each corrosion class.
Test protocols used:
|
Protocol |
Duration |
Corresponding Application |
|
Standard validation |
1,000 hours |
HDG coating for C3-C4 environments |
|
Extended validation |
10,000 hours |
Zn-Al-Mg and HDG for C5-M coastal environments |

What the test validates:
Time to first visible red rust on HDG coating; time to first red rust at cut edges on Zn-Al-Mg-coated samples; coating adhesion retention after extended exposure. Results form the empirical basis for Winture's 25–30-year coating warranty commitments.
Test output:
Time-stamped photographic record at each inspection interval, rust area percentage, final pass/fail. Retained internally; provided to customers requiring extended corrosion validation.
